| This very important
national approach was put into place by the Children Act
2004. It sets out 5 Outcomes for children and young
people, which everyone working with and for children
should aim to achieve for every child.
Briefly, the 5 Outcomes are:
-
Being healthy…enjoying
good physical and mental health, and living a
healthy lifestyle.
-
Staying safe…being
protected from harm and neglect.
-
Enjoying and achieving
…getting the most out of life and developing the
skills for adulthood.
-
Making a positive
contribution …being involved with the community and
society and not engaging in anti-social or offending
behaviour
-
Achieving economic
well-being …not being prevented by economic
disadvantage from achieving their full potential in
life.
There is a lot more detail to each of these. There is
more information on the parents’ noticeboards at the
gate, in the main entrance and in the entrances to the
Foundation Stage.
There is also more detail at

All schools are required to look at what they do in
the light of the 5 Outcomes. As we seek to continue to
improve what we do for our children, we will be
measuring our school against them.
