Ofsted

The school was inspected by Ofsted in February 2010.

The team found
'Queen Eleanor's is a satisfactory school. It is rapidly improving and this is reflected in the positive views expressed by both pupils and parents. A group of older pupils commented: 'Our school has really changed. We no longer have endless worksheets to follow and lessons are fun. We feel safe and happy and want to learn. It really makes a difference.'

Under the effective leadership of the new headteacher, the senior leadership team has turned the school around. They have secured the full support of the staff team, ensuring the school's vision of providing 'exciting learning experiences to improve the attainment of all pupils' is evident in all that it does. The impact of this leadership has quickly become apparent. Standards are rising rapidly and securely, although attainment is low. Pupils who have difficulty reading and writing and those at an early stage of learning English are now making better progress than before in lessons because teachers are planning tasks that are well matched to their needs.
